FAQFrequently asked
Frequently asked
questions.
The questions a department chair, CMIO, or privacy officer asks first.
01Where is patient information stored?
Recording, transcription, and the first draft note happen on the iPad. Practice administrative data (members, plan, billing) lives on U.S. cloud infrastructure under a Business Associate Agreement and is encrypted with keys your practice can revoke at any time.
02What happens if an iPad is lost?
Audio for unfinalized visits stays on the device itself. The iPad is enrolled in mobile device management at deployment so you can wipe it remotely, and the app requires Face ID plus two-factor authentication at every cold start. Revoking your practice's encryption keys renders anything left on the device unreadable.
03How is the AI evaluated for accuracy?
Every model version is checked for accuracy and faithfulness to the source dictation before it reaches any practice. A version that does not meet our quality bar is not released.
04What's the fallback if the AI is unavailable?
The transcript is preserved. The clinician can use the raw transcript directly or generate the note again later. Visits never block on the AI; the dictation captures regardless.
05How are model updates rolled out?
Gradually, never all at once. If quality drops during a rollout, it is paused automatically and the previous version is restored without any action from your practice.
06Does prosemed replace our EHR?
No. prosemed is a documentation tool. The note and codes export to the EHR; clinical history, orders, and labs continue to live in the EHR.
07What does our IT team need to do to deploy?
Sign the Business Associate Agreement, enroll the iPads in your mobile device management, and confirm how clinicians will sign in (today that's email plus two-factor authentication). The rest of practice setup happens in the app at first sign-in.
08How does support work?
Email [email protected] during business hours, 8a to 6p Eastern. For incidents touching PHI, a 4-hour response and 24-hour notification are committed in the BAA.
09Can we evaluate before signing?
30-day pilot with up to five clinicians on a subset of patients. The pilot runs as its own separate practice, so pilot data is never mixed with your live data, and at the end of the window you can export or delete everything.
